My name is Frida Berntsen (Nijmegen, 1997). I am a Dutch artist living and working in Arnhem.

My practice rests on the tension between the everyday and transiency, and the way in which decay and time (often literally) leave their mark in my works. My works highlight mundane moments in an almost coincidental manner. By capturing, erasing and transforming something that once was, new meanings arise. My methods and art search for an attentiveness in material, believing that the past, present and future are encapsulated in the objects that we surround ourselves with. Matter shows us how everything slowly changes around us. This, to me, is where beauty lies.
